The Perfect Little Glass Container- Wean Green Product Review
Last week I was talking about my big kitchen plastic clean up. While I was in the middle of implementing my purging of all things plastic I was lucky enough to receive a set of Wean cubes, glass baby food containers from Wean Green. It was perfect timing since I no longer had any small plastic containers to use for my daughter’s snacks. I discovered that the little plastic baby food containers that I thought I had been so smart to recycle into snack containers were all made of #7 plastic, ick!
The Wean Green containers come in sets of four 120ml, square glass containers with four different colors of clip on lids. They are perfect portion size for snacks like yogurt and apple sauce. We also use them for things like peanut butter and cream cheese which my daughter loves to snack on with bread sticks.
I love love love these containers! They are so cute (and useful) that I’m actually thinking of buying myself another set. I do find them a little pricey at $28. per set but they are such a handy size for kids and did I mention how cute they are?
Wean Green was started in 2008 by a healthy living, Canadian Mom named Melissa Gunning. The containers are made of extremely durable, recyclable glass that can go straight from the freezer to the microwave. The lids close and lock securely and have an airtight silicone seal which keeps food fresh and makes the containers leak proof so that you can just throw them in a bag and go. The Wean Green cubes are completely BPA, PVC, phthalate and plasticizer free. I thought it was a really nice touch that they came with a plantable “usage and care” card with wildflower seeds embedded in it.
If you’re making the switch from plastic to glass then these little containers are the perfect solution for storing and transporting baby food, children’s snacks and even salad dressings or dips for your workday lunches.
Wean Green has been kind enough to offer Mom’s Green Shopping List followers a 20% discount with the code greenshoppinglist valid until November 30th. This combined with their free shipping makes these little glass cubes an excellent buy. Wean Green ships Fedex to Canada and the U.S. International customers can e-mail for shipping information.
